
Adam Rysanek
Faculty Researcher in the PICS / Built Environment Project
Dr. Rysanek is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Systems at UBC’s School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. His expertise is in green building design, construction and operation, with experience engaging in high-performance building projects in Canada, Europe and Asia. His research and teaching focuses on the study of parametric tools for performative building design, application of emerging technologies for design optimisation and performance evaluation, and the study of future trends in community and building energy systems. Dr. Rysanek holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and a BASc and MScE from Queen’s University. Prior to joining UBC, Dr. Rysanek led research out of the ETH Zurich Institute of Technology in Architecture, the ETH Zurich Future Cities Laboratory in Singapore, and the Energy Efficient Cities Initiative at the University of Cambridge
