Carly Madge joins PICS as the Program Manager at University of Northern British Columbia. She brings expertise in climate change adaptation, mitigation, and community-engaged research.
Prior to joining PICS, Carly worked as an Adaptation Coordinator for the Province of Nova Scotia, helping to co-create and implement a climate change adaptation plan for the province’s Department of Natural Resources and Renewables.
Carly holds a Master of Environmental Studies from the School for Resources and Environmental Studies at Dalhousie University, focusing on wildfire risk reduction and climate change adaptation, and a Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences from Lakehead University. Carly’s research has focused widely on community engagement, and she has co-authored several papers on the topic.
Carly joined PICS because she has a passion for helping to facilitate the development of climate change solutions that are practical, actionable, and help to benefit communities. Carly grew up in northern Ontario and spent several years living in northern British Columbia after completing her undergraduate degree. She is excited to be living in and working with northern communities again.
