
Cindy MacDougall
Communications Manager
Cindy MacDougall is a communications professional with more than 20 years' experience telling the stories of people leading change and making a difference throughout Canada.
Cindy began her career as a journalist in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories in 2000, reporting for Northern News Services and quickly moving to CBC North, where she served as regional health reporter.
In 2008, Cindy joined the BC Public Service in Government Communications and Public Engagement, working at several ministries including the Ministry of Health as Senior Public Affairs Officer in media relations and issues management. In 2016, she became part of the communications team at Royal Roads University, serving as the university’s media liaison. She joined PICS in 2022, and has a particular interest in the intersection of climate change and human health.
Cindy holds a Bachelor of Journalism, Highest Honours from Carleton University in Ottawa. Professional accolades include being named a finalist for Organizational Excellence in the 2015 BC Premier’s Awards, and receiving the 2004 Society of Gynecologists and Obstetricians of Canada Journalism Award for Excellence in Women's Health Reporting.
