
James Tansey
Faculty Researcher in the PICS / Built Environment Project
Dr. Tansey is an Associate Professor in the Sauder School of Business and an Adjunct Professor in the Institute for Resource, Environment and Sustainability at the University of British Columbia. His research and teaching focuses on social impact investment, social innovation and entrepreneurship, emerging markets and institutions for carbon trading, and the ethics of new and emerging technologies. He has also been at the forefront of multiple start-ups including Nature Bank Asset Management and Offsetters. Dr. Tansey holds a PhD and BSc from the University of East Anglia. He leads the Centre for Social Innovation and Impact Investing and is the Executive Director of UBC’s Sustainability Initiative.
