Raymond Cole

Principal Investigator in the PICS / Built Environment Project

Before retiring in 2017, Dr. Cole has been a professor at the University of British Columbia’s School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (SALA). His research and teaching focused on environmental issues, regenerative design and environmental performance in building design. He was also active in advancing architectural practice, and was part of multiple collaborative to establish green building performance metrics, standards and benchmarks. During his tenure at UBC, Dr. Cole was a Director of SALA and Academic Director for the Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability. He is an Honorary Member of the Architectural Institute of BC and a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, and among his numerous awards are the Sustainable Building Canada Life-time Achievement Award and the Canada Green Building Councils Life-time Leadership Award.
