Robyn Meyer is responsible for mobilizing engagement and action on the institute’s climate change solutions, as well as strategic planning of outreach events and activities. Climate change is the leading story of our time, and being able to engage and inspire target audiences to act through the creative sharing of innovative research across new emerging platforms is a key motivation behind her work.
Robyn has 20-plus years’ experience in public relations and media, as a former senior press secretary for the New Zealand Government and as a radio/print journalist, including chief reporter for Radio New Zealand. Professional accolades include a New York Festival United Nations award for environmental reporting, Best Documentary in the NZ Radio Awards, and a UVic President’s Distinguished Service Award for her work at PICS. Robyn holds a University of Canterbury Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism and a BA in Political Science and History, and her career experience spans Australasia, Europe, South and North America.
