
Nazrul’s PhD research project aims to estimate methane emissions from oil and gas industries in three western provinces of Canada using SCIAMACHY and GOSAT satellite methane data. This new inventory will allow us to improve the provincial methane emission inventory, and consequently serve the needs of Provincial and National climate policy. He holds an MSc degree in Environmental Science from UNBC, and prior to UNBC he received another MSc, and BSc degrees in Environmental Sciences from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. His MSc thesis in UNBC investigated satellite, and passive monitoring measurement of nitrogen dioxide, and sulfur dioxide produced from oil and gas sector in Northeast British Columbia, Canada. He enjoys traveling and outdoor activities with friends and family.
