Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Department of Forest Resources Management, UBC

Sheng Xie is a Postdoc Research Fellow working on the PICS Wildfire and Carbon Project. His current research focus is on modeling the fate of carbon in harvested wood products and developing climate change mitigation strategies for the forest-based bioeconomy. His previous work includes the quantification of climate efficiencies between a self-sustaining versus an export-oriented bioeconomy, as well as a comparison of the carbon storage and substitution magnitudes among various wood end-use applications. He holds a Ph.D. degree from University of British Columbia.
