Simone is an MSc student at the Institute of Resources, Environment and Sustainability at UBC. She has a BSc in environmental geology with a minor in computer science. Presently, she is working as a climate emergency research assistant at UBC Sustainability initiative and is also a co-host on an environmental podcast called Anthropause. Her current research focuses on the influence of path dependency on the implementation of nature-based flood management. She is a strong advocate of nature-based solutions and environmental justice.
With the PICS Living with Water project, Simone is exploring successful cases of nature-based coastal adaptation globally in both Indigenous and Western contexts.
