Thomas Budd

PhD Candidate

Thomas Budd comes to EMRG as a student of energy and economic policy.  He received his Bachelor of Arts (Honours with Distinction) in Economics at SFU where he focused on Resource, Environmental and Ecological Economics.  Thomas is a long-time supporter of the SFU community.  He was president of the SFU Economics Undergraduate Student Society and a volunteer advisor for SFU’s 50th Anniversary Community Events.  For his efforts, Thomas was the recipient of the Glenn Berg Award for entrepreneurial spirit and leadership, and the Jack Knetsch Award for producing the best economics honours paper in his graduating class.  Thomas hopes to use his interdisciplinary training at REM to continue in a career of research and policy-making that will contribute to the betterment of our local and global communities.
