Agents of Change Event

Agents of Change: the role of universities in the climate crisis event on July 22, 2019.

Join Janet Napolitano, University of California President and former US Secretary of Homeland Security, and Santo Ono, UBC President and Vice-Chancellor, on July 22 as they explore how universities can be agents of change, with an open audience Q&A to follow.

Hosted by UBC in partnership with PICS, this in-depth conversation will focus on the role that universities should play on global issues like the climate crisis.

Universities’ convening power, deep community ties, subject-matter expertise as well as  the energy of their students, faculty and staff make them an invaluable resource to help solve the world’s most intractable problems. With their emphasis on cutting-edge research and innovation, the University of California and the University of British Columbia are well-positioned to lead the way towards a future that is sustainable and thriving for all.
