Mathematical Sciences & Clean Energy Applications - a PICS supported workshop, May 21, 2019.

A PICS sponsored 3-day workshop to foster collaboration between mathematical sciences and the clean energy sector

The energy chain of the global economy must be drastically decarbonized to minimize climate impacts and prevent runaway climate change. Everyone has a role to play in making this change, from mathematicians to energy sector specialists. The PIMS exploratory workshop, sponsored in part by the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions, will build a greater dialogue between those in the mathematical sciences and the clean energy sector.

Join the workshop to gain first-hand knowledge about mathematical scientists working in clean energy projects and the tools they use, learn about clean energy systems, and participate in panel discussions. Longer term, a goal of the workshop is to inspire ongoing collaborations and explorations between mathematical scientists and practitioners in clean energy. Mathematical scientists with no previous experience in clean energy research are welcome to participate.
