Devon Jones is a Master of Environmental Studies Student in the department of Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Waterloo, which is located on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples.

Through various co-op placements in her undergrad, Devon has worked in both local and federal government positions involved with transportation, water, and renewable energy infrastructure. She is passionate about pursuing holistic climate change adaptation by recognizing diverse sources of both vulnerability and strength.

As part of the PICS Living with Water project, Devon is examining the challenges and opportunities in governance for nature-based alternatives to conventional dikes, focusing particularly on the City of Surrey’s living dike pilot project at Boundary Bay. Her work is funded by a Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
