Program Manager - Transportation Futures

Omar is Chemical Engineer from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with an Engineering Management Subspecialisation from the University of British Columbia. His work has taken him through startups in the sports industry and biotech, renewable energy companies, and recently Academia. He has published 19 papers and filed 2 patents. He is an innovator and a strategist that links industry, government and academia. He is currently the Program Manager of Transportation Futures, a multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional cluster. The Program has 5 main pillars: Renewables to Transportation, Low-carbon Fuels, Zero-emission vehicles, Connected and Safe vehicles and infrastructure, and health and wellbeing in the smart city. His research interests are related to the reduction of the greenhouse gas emissions responsibly and the required policy to make it happen.
