PICS launches new climate events funding streams

Looking for funding for a climate action event? PICS may be able to help.

The Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS) is launching two new funding streams to support climate-focused events in British Columbia.

The University Climate Knowledge Mobilization Events program offers up to $2,500 to groups, organizations, departments, and/or institutes at any of the PICS-network universities (UBC, SFU, UNBC, UVic) to host events that promote climate change research, education, and knowledge-sharing.

The Community Climate Action Events program provides between $2,500 to $5,000 to non-profit organizations, Indigenous organizations, and First Nations planning events that drive tangible climate action.

These events can focus on a variety of topics, such as energy transition, ecosystem health, sustainable food systems, and wildfire resilience. PICS will prioritize events that emphasize climate justice and reconciliation.

Submit your applications between Tuesday, Sept. 3 and Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, for events scheduled from October 2024 to mid-March 2025. A second intake will open Monday, Feb. 3 for events occurring from mid-March 2025 to September 2025.
