Bringing climate change to the classroom

Project creates a framework for introducing climate education in all grades.

Climate change is increasingly affecting all aspects of life, including the economy and the local environment. To better prepare children for their futures, it is important that students understand climate change.

The Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions has provided funding to this project, Infusing Climate Education into the B.C. Curriculum, to help update the climate curriculum for B.C. schools. Researchers are working with the B.C. Ministry of Education to provide a framework to guide teachers in designing activities. The framework will consider multiple perspectives, including aspects of Indigenous Knowledges and worldviews.
