Slash-pile burning: Uncertainties and emissions in B.C.

Watch this Lightning Talk presentation by UBC student Eric Nance from the PICS Wildfire and Carbon project.

Researcher Eric Nance from the PICS Wildfire and Carbon project explains why better quantifying the amount, and types, of wood fibre being burned in slash piles in B.C., can support a more sustainable way of managing forest ecosystems, as well as contribute to meeting provincial GHG targets. Nance is a Master of Science in Forestry student at the University of British Columbia and presented at the PICS 2020 Student Forum.
