From Grief to Hope: A Climate Storytelling Workshop

January 23, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Event

Join PICS and guests from the UBC Climate Hub for a UVic workshop on using storytelling to inspire hope and action about the climate crisis.

New to the climate conversation and overwhelmed by the news? Want to find your place in the discussion or champion change but not sure where to start?

Join the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS) and guests from the UBC Climate Hub at the University of Victoria for a small-group discussion on empowering positive and solution-oriented conversations on climate change. We will discuss the climate crisis, personal experiences of it and of climate grief, and how to use storytelling to inspire hope. We will also learn about youth who have used their own ‘climate stories’ to enact positive change. Participants will create their own stories that can be used to advocate for climate action and discuss ways to get involved with climate solutions at UVic and more broadly.

Because of its hands-on nature, this workshop is limited to 25 participants. Space is limited! If you RSVP and are no longer able to attend, please let us know by cancelling your RSVP so that others are given the opportunity to attend.

The workshop will be 1.5hrs, with breaks for refreshments and networking. Coffee and snacks will be provided.

We acknowledge with respect and gratitude that this event is taking place on the unceded territories of the Lekwungen & WSANEC peoples.
